The City of Chula Vista will hold its annual State of the City address on Tuesday, May 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the new Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center.

The event, hosted by Mayor John McCann, will mark the first public event held at the new resort. The mayor will highlight the city’s recent accomplishments, including public safety rankings, efforts to reduce homelessness, infrastructure investments, affordable homeownership initiatives and regional collaboration to address the Tijuana sewage issue.

“As Mayor, I’m excited to host this year’s?Chula Vista State of the City?at the stunning Gaylord Pacific Resort,” said McCann in the event announcement. “I’m proud to highlight our city’s accomplishments.”

The outdoor event will take place in the resort’s grassy plaza areas. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. The event is free and open to the public, and Spanish translation services will be available.

Parking is available at the resort’s parking structure at a discounted rate of $20, down from the standard $45 fee. Street parking is limited, and attendees are advised to use the J Street exit off Interstate 5, as the H Street exit may experience delays.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP in advance. A video recording of the address will be available on the City of Chula Vista website within 48 hours for those unable to attend in person.

Event sponsors include presenting sponsor Seven Mile Casino, along with Baldwin and Sons, Community Health Group, Wyyerd Fiber and Cox.
