New year ushers in partial closure to bike path
A portion of the Sweetwater Bicycle Path & Promenade, a scenic loop that connects to the Bayshore Bikeway, will be closed starting Jan. 6, as part of construction for the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center. For public safety around the construction area, the temporary closure will start at Lagoon Drive and end at H Street. Signs informing pedestrians and cyclists about the closure are posted around the area and directional detour signs will redirect path users to alternate routes.
The path is anticipated to reopen in early February 2025. Details and updates can be found at portofsandiego.org/chulavistabayfront.
