Wearing Gratitude Like a Cloak – Rumi

The week of Thanksgiving and the season of gratitude begins. The Sun is now in Sagittarius. We shifted from the waters (Scorpio) to the plains (Sagittarius); from the eagle to the horse; from the depths to seeking the heights; from the star Antares to the Galactic Center; from the opal to the topaz; from Mars to Jupiter; from Orion to Chiron; from Tuesday (Mars ruled) to Thursday (Jupiter ruled); from the sign of death and regeneration to the sign of the adventurer, riding the white horse, bow and arrow in hand, seeking the mountain tops of Capricorn. 

Thanksgiving is this Thursday. It is our day of gratitude. There is a quote by Rumi that says “Wear gratitude like a cloak and it will feed every corner of one’s life.” The entire autumn season from now on through Christmas calls us to focus upon gratitude – each moment of each day. 

Thanksgiving this year may be different due to four retrograde planets, including Mercury retrograde (direct on Saturday). We are swept into the past, especially with Saturn (structure, tradition) at a standstill in the sky. Tradition is best during this Thanksgiving. However, be aware there may be misunderstandings, disruptions, interruptions, resistance and a bit of chaos, things upside down, inside out. 

The days after Thursday’s Thanksgiving – Saturday after Thanksgiving, Mercury stations direct (21 degrees Scorpio) and the next day, Sunday, Advent (four weeks preparing for something coming!) begins. We light our first violet colored candle on the circular evergreen wreath, dedicated to hope and to the beauty and life in the mineral kingdom.

Gratitude – I have posted information on gratitude every year that I have written columns (last 30 years). But life goes on and we forget.  

So I am writing about gratitude again, this year and all the years into the future. So that we can remember. And know.

 “Gratitude, a scientific and sacred releasing agent – an act of service. Gratitude releases us from the past, revealing our future – the new culture and civilization,  the rising light of Aquarius – the era of harmony, friendship and freedom. The Lord of the World places much emphasis upon gratitude.” So, for each other and for all that we have to share, let us be grateful together! I wish everyone a happy and joyful Thanksgiving. ARIES: It’s most important to find the ability to give and then give even more. It’s important to recognize and activate your heart’s electrical current that reaches other hearts. Then all hearts respond with joy. New currents of fire begin in spring. You are a fire. Review your values and sense of justice, know the truth of what’s occurring in the world, and how you are to aid humanity’s endeavors in building the new society. What are your visions for the new era?

TAURUS: It’s important to care for yourself. You are a resource and if not tended to well enough, you cannot be helpful to others. There is an onrush of ideas from Uranus impelling you to discover new ways towards your well-being. Ideas concerning the new reality continue to appear. Their manifestation into form has been elusive. Now you see the new world coming forth as the new physics. This is the new Aquarian art, too. Give blessings of gratitude to all around you. Then the petals of all hearts unfold. 

GEMINI: It’s most important to reflect upon what you value in relationships and what values you bring to others. Begin with your most intimate. It might be that you consider first the following: what’s taken for granted, what’s not understood, what allows you to be most truthful and what is occurring from the past that needs rethinking? A new message appears within your closest relationship. You must listen perceptively. Hearts can be linked when there is gratitude. It leads to love, inspiration and bliss. 

CANCER: Your idea of a daily schedule runs quickly out the window and you can suddenly find yourself with no routines, plans or the ability to take control of daily events. Anything you’ve thought of doing simply melts into states of chaos (which is creative) seeking the next level of harmony. But the harmony’s not manifesting for a while. The best thing to do is to lose the self into preparing and giving nurturing foods. Offer this food to others. They will receive it as goodness from the heavens. They will be grateful. 

LEO: The past year has been one in which your values have been looked at in detail. You have been serious, busy and very structured. Saturn has kept you in a state of discipline. But now, thankfully, you are called to a state of ease, to amusement, recreation, children, pleasure, creativity, games, fun, enjoyment and being with others who love to play too. There is a level of spirituality that has entered into your world. It feels nurturing and nourishing. It expands your heart into a state of previously unknown gratitude.  

VIRGO: Early childhood, family and parents, the very foundations of your life, the beliefs learned while young and carried into the present time appear for the purpose of remembering, for keeping what’s useful and eliminating what no longer is (useful). Be aware that moodiness, brooding, and perhaps intense feelings will arise. Assess these with intelligence, observation and knowledge that they are useful. What helps is gratitude for all that was given to us. We agreed to all of it beforehand.

LIBRA: It’s good to be in touch with siblings, to communicate with friends, travel to beautiful places, have conversations with neighbors and strangers, share news, family gossip, hopes, wishes, dreams, ideas and plans. Don’t allow information to be trapped inside your head, waiting for that rainy day to share what’s in your heart. Communicate anyway and immediately with the intention to make contact, which releases Love. Your family misses and loves you. If travelling, know that some things may be slow, different realities emerge and a new world beckons. Find antique silver. 

SCORPIO: The entire world’s in a state of reorientation, a state you know well for you experience a state of reorientation, death and dying, endlessly. The whole world is the Labors of Hercules, in a Scorpio state of transformation, of testing and of dying so that the new world can eventually break open and come forth. Your importance in this great shift is the fact that your mind has revelations, things no one knows. You have research abilities that can define the new culture and civilization. What are you using your talents and resources for? What are you grateful for? 

SAGITTARIUS: There’s an opportunity now, not wanting to waste a moment of life, to redefine yourself in terms of your inner worlds wishes, hopes, and dreams, your spirituality, identity and life purpose. You’re able to change your mind about who you (think you) are and how you see yourself. Be aware that your presence is very impactful to others when around you. Issues you thought were complete, reappear for another review. A new rhythm is appearing. Find some music and enter it. Remain there for a while. What will you do for Thanksgiving?   It’s your own personal celebration! 

CAPRICORN: You may feel behind a curtain in a theatre somewhere, waiting in the wings for things to ease, comfort to be available and new realities to appear. It’s like planting a winter garden – kale, spinach, onions,  arugula, wintergreens, thyme, oregano, parsley – waiting each day for the first green shoots. Everything on inner levels is being restructured. You feel this but it hasn’t manifested yet in your outer world. Be as calm as possible to allow the new roots of a new reality to anchor, become strong, later to contour, blossom and reshape your life. We are grateful for you. 

AQUARIUS: In the following weeks you will discover your true friends, what groups truly support your endeavors and whom you can turn to for nurturance, needs and simple friendship. Should some you contact not respond, don’t judge. They are simply busy with life. You have a good mind. You learn quickly. Allow yourself to provide humanity true information so that you become part of the new education humanity needs. You will assess your life’s journey. When traveling, follow scrupulously the rules of the road. You might find Buddha on the road. Be grateful. 

PISCES: Some Pisces are seeking new pathways, some are feeling strict, some are in other worlds. Many are giving Pisces various ideas to help bring the teachings into the world. But it’s not time yet. Simply consider these ideas without making final decisions. Acknowledgements and recognitions may come forth unexpectedly. Tend to previous tasks that bring order and organization and be careful of your public image. You will continue to work with focused consistency. Healing begins as gratitude expands. Thanksgiving and grace unfolding.
