Chula Vista launches free Bayfront shuttle service
The City of Chula Vista has launched the Chula Vista Bayfront Shuttle, a free, emissions-free service aimed at improving access to the city’s revitalized bayfront.
Operating daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the shuttle offers transportation with all-electric vehicles. Routes connect the shoreline to key areas including the Living Coast Discovery Center, Downtown Chula Vista, Chula Vista Center, residential communities, parks and existing trolley stations.
Routes include the Blue Line, which connects the Chula Vista Bayfront to transit centers at E and H streets, and the Green Line, which connects the Bayfront to the adjacent community.
The program is part of the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan’s Public Access Program, which emphasizes the public’s right to shoreline access and supports a pedestrian, bicycle, transit and auto network providing free or low-cost recreational and transportation options.
“The Bayfront Shuttle will connect our community to Chula Vista’s world-class waterfront,” said Mayor John McCann. “We’re proud to offer this free and convenient service to help residents and visitors experience our scenic Bayfront while supporting local businesses in Downtown Chula Vista.”
