‘Salute to Teachers’ TV special features SUHSD teacher

San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) has been named the presenting sponsor of the 35th annual Cox Presents: Salute to Teachers, a televised special recognizing the 2025-26 San Diego County Teachers of the Year.

The 30-minute program, produced in partnerships with the San Diego County Office of Education and Cox Communications, will air on Cox’s YurView Network (Channel 4 on Cox and Spectrum in San Diego). It will feature classroom footage, interviews with colleagues and students, and moments of surprise as the five honorees learn of their selection. This year’s San Diego County Teachers of the Year are Miguel Marin of Granger Jr. High School, Greg Hinchliff of Bonsall High School, Corina Martinez of Pioneer Elementary School, Allison Schmitt of Solana Pacific Elementary and Kevin White of De Portola Middle School.

The five honorees will advance to represent the region in the California Teacher of the Year program, with the possibility of progressing to the National Teacher of the Year program.
